SGAIN is expanding our networks and collaboration in Brazil
In October, SGAIN PI Prof Yixian Sun had a week-long research visit to the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), School of International Relations, in São Paulo, Brazil.
During his visit, Yixian met with leading Brazilian researchers on global governance and international political economy. He also delivered a lecture titled ‘Business Power, Voluntary Standards, and Sustainability” to undergraduate students at FGV, and presented our study examining alignments of China-led climate governance initiatives with UN institutions and norms in FGV SI’s research seminar. The visit is part of a new collaborative project on the political economy of green trade and investment awarded to Prof Yixian Sun and Dr Rodrigo Fagundes Cezar Cezar by Bath-FAPESPA SPRINT Grant. Through this visit, we have identified a range of collaboration opportunities with researchers and policy practitioners in Brazil, especially in the area of China-Brazil cooperation for environmental governance and sustainability transitions.
We look forward to more outputs from this collaboration and strengthening our partnerships with FGV in coming years.
